It is indeed a pride to be invited in boat shows, not as a visitor but as an exhibitor. Ever since my parents have upgraded their old multihull into a Broadbill, the advantage of owning one of the most state of the art forms and the first of the sharkcat boats has been our ticket for constant entries to the boat shows. Functionality, form and overall elegance as a watercraft, I believe, have been the main reasons for our constant entries. You would just imagine why other more expensive yachts are not invited to boat shows. Maybe they’re not interested, I would think at first. But when a marina club member who is also my friend and owns a luxury yacht told me that he did not receive an invitation, I was sure that the boat’s cost is not an entire factor.
Whenever folks would be around our Broadbill and ask questions, I feel like the sales agent for this boat which is not for sale anyway. But I do stand up and brag about it, tell them of the features that make it a special multihull amongst the rest that are used and manufactured. On a separate note, I am quick to tell them how important it is to have a dependable marine insurance company. No matter how luxurious or downright functional the boat is, or across the different criteria of rating a boat and its prominence in the boat shows, it is still the bottom line to see if their marine insurance company makes the ownership worthwhile. With Wallace Welch & Willingham, whether in a boat show or just cruising the Florida coasts, we cruise with confidence with the best sense of security.
